Upon signing up for GetResponse, we were immediately struck by its customizable dashboard –
a standout feature setting it apart from competitors. Unlike fixed designs, it offers complete customization with widgets displayed like cards, presenting various data and interaction options. You can arrange widgets as per your preference, optimizing efficiency. For instance, the Quick Actions widget consolidates frequently used tools for swift access, while the New Contacts widget tracks list growth. Additionally, a Tools icon at the top provides easy access to various features, including the core Email Marketing toolkit. This toolkit facilitates newsletter creation and scheduling, accessed via Tools > Email marketing > Create newsletter, where users can choose to design manually or utilize the AI email generator for efficiency.
If you opt for the latter option, you simply need to respond to a few inquiries regarding your email content and business specifics, select a tone, and choose a layout. GetResponse leverages its artificial intelligence engine, powered by OpenAI’s technology, to generate your email from scratch automatically.
We tested this feature by requesting an email introduction for BloggingWizard’s newsletter, and here’s the result it generated:
The performance was astounding. I marveled at its accuracy in describing BloggingWizard’s offerings without any prior information. The email, rich with mentions of ‘blogging resources,’ ‘SEO secrets,’ and ‘content creation hacks,’ was remarkably compelling.
This tool is a game-changer for email marketers, slashing newsletter creation time from hours to under a minute. However, for those who prefer the traditional approach, manual creation is still an option. Simply select “By myself” and proceed to set recipients, email address, and subject line.
Upon clicking “Design email,” users are presented with a library boasting over a hundred professional templates catering to various newsletter types. Choose a template that aligns with your content, and utilize the drag-and-drop editor for seamless customization.
Here, you have the freedom to tailor the design and content of your newsletter. It operates like any other WYSIWYG editor: Simply drag content blocks from the toolbar on the right, then rearrange and edit them in the main preview window. Additionally, you can save customized blocks for future use across different messages, saving time and effort. Once your newsletter is ready, simply click “Next” to send it immediately or schedule it for later delivery.
Before proceeding, you have the option to enable Click Tracking to monitor your click-through rates (CTR) and Ecommerce Tracking to observe the actions of contacts after they click your links and visit your site.
A/B Testing: Additionally, within the email marketing toolkit, you can configure A/B tests to optimize your campaign effectiveness.
A/B testing empowers you to optimize your email marketing strategy by comparing different subject lines and content variants to determine the most effective approach. Create two versions of your newsletter, send variant A to a portion of your subscribers (e.g., 50%), and variant B to the remainder. Begin by navigating to your dashboard, then select Email Marketing > A/B Tests > Create A/B Test. Choose whether to test the subject line or content.
Next, you’ll configure all your variants. For a basic A/B test, you only need two versions. However, you can test up to five variants simultaneously for a more intricate multivariate test.
Another notable feature is RSS feeds. Easily link your website’s blog to GetResponse and automate newsletters whenever a new article is published. Simply click “Create RSS-to-email,” then customize your mailing preferences to begin.
You have full control over the frequency of digest emails and the number of articles included. Customize the design in the editor just like regular emails.
Autoresponders & Automations: Automate email sending based on triggers with GetResponse’s Autoresponders. Access it via the Tools bar.
Set up autoresponders to send emails automatically in response to specific triggers. Create them yourself or use GetResponse’s generative AI. Simply open the tool and click “Create autoresponder”.
You have the flexibility to schedule messages at your convenience with GetResponse. For instance, welcome emails can greet new subscribers instantly, while follow-up offers can be set for 2 days later. Need a broader view? Switch to the calendar mode to visualize and manage your autoresponders efficiently.
For more intricate automations, utilize the Workflows tool for advanced strategies. Simply navigate to Tools > Automation > Create workflow to begin crafting sophisticated automations tailored to your needs.
Now, you have the option to choose from a variety of templates tailored to different automation needs. Whether it’s reviving dormant leads, maintaining clean lists, promoting webinars, or recovering abandoned carts, GetResponse offers templates to suit every purpose.
Customizing these templates in the Automation Creator is straightforward. Despite its initial complexity, it’s quite manageable. Simply link Conditions (triggers), Actions, and Filters to refine your workflows and tailor them to your requirements.
GetResponse also provides a comprehensive website building feature. Access it via Tools > Website builder > Create website. You can either utilize ready-made templates or engage the AI-powered builder by providing conversational prompts. With over 100 professionally-designed themes available, you’ll find the perfect fit for any niche.
To begin designing your website, simply click on any template to launch it in the drag-and-drop website builder. The interface resembles our email newsletter editor, organized into sections and elements. You can easily customize by dragging elements or clicking on them to adjust content, settings, and design.
To add new elements, click the + button on the right sidebar. Explore options like text blocks, images, video blocks, buttons, and more. Above the + button, you’ll find two additional buttons: one for global design changes and the other for managing website pages.
Initially, common pages like homepage, about, gallery, contact, and registration/login pages are provided, but you can add as many more as needed. Simply click on any page to switch and edit it within the editor.
Once your site is ready, preview it in both desktop and mobile views. Then, proceed to publish by clicking “Next”. You have the option to connect your own domain or publish it under a free GetResponse subdomain.
For specific campaigns or lead generation, utilize individual landing pages, forms, and popups. Access these features by selecting “Landing pages” or “Forms and popups” from the Tools bar. Tailor these elements to effectively capture leads and drive conversions.
As with the website builder, you have dozens of templates to choose from for all of the above, which are fully customizable in the drag-and-drop editor.
Flexible Publishing Options: Design your landing pages with ease on GetResponse, then choose to host them on a GetResponse subdomain or publish on your private domain. Embed forms, popups, and notification bars directly on your site or trigger them as popups for enhanced engagement.
Contact Management: Collect subscribers effortlessly with landing pages, forms, and popups, managing them seamlessly through the Contacts tool. Segment your list for targeted campaigns and maintain list hygiene by deleting inactive contacts or setting up blocklisting rules.
Ecommerce Tools: Connect your store to GetResponse to unlock a range of ecommerce features. Generate promo codes, send personalized product recommendations, set up abandoned cart emails, and track ecommerce statistics to optimize your sales strategy.
Other Features: Explore additional tools like conversion funnels, chats, reports, webinars, web push notifications, and paid ads to enhance your marketing efforts further. GetResponse offers a comprehensive suite of features to meet diverse marketing needs.
Pricing Plans: Choose from four plans: Free, Email Marketing, Marketing Automation, and Ecommerce Marketing, each tailored to different requirements. Enjoy features like AI email generation, autoresponders, advanced automation, and ecommerce-focused tools based on your chosen plan.
Pros and Cons: GetResponse excels with its generative AI capabilities, all-in-one platform, user-friendliness, and excellent deliverability. However, its website and landing page builder could offer more flexibility, and costs may increase as your list grows. Consider alternatives like MailerLite, Moosend, or ActiveCampaign based on your specific needs.

Its feature-rich platform, coupled with AI-powered tools, makes it a valuable asset for businesses seeking efficient marketing solutions. Consider a free trial to experience its benefits firsthand.
